I didn't start from zero. I started from everything I'd lived.

Dear Beautiful You,

I didn't start from zero. I started from everything I'd lived.

Every chapter. Every lesson. Every responsibility. Every dream I had set aside because something—or someone—needed me more.

I'm a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a nurse practitioner. I've spent much of my life caring for people, raising a family, working, learning, and doing what needed to be done.

And I love the life I've built.

But somewhere along the way, I began asking myself a different question.

What would my life look like if I gave myself permission to be more of myself?

Not a different woman.

Not someone with a perfect life, perfect skin, or all the answers.

Just me.

With everything I've learned, everything I've experienced, and everything I still want to enjoy.

For years, I thought there would be a better time to pursue certain dreams.

When family life was less busy.

When work slowed down.

When there was more money, more energy, more time.

But life doesn't always leave an empty space for our dreams. Sometimes we have to make room for them.

And I realized something.

I didn't want to start my life over.

I wanted to live more fully in the life I already had.

That's where Sol began.

Not with a promise to turn back the clock.

Not because I believed there was something wrong with the way I looked.

But because I wanted to create something that reflected how I was beginning to see myself and the world around me.

I wanted skincare that felt like a moment of pleasure instead of another obligation.

I wanted conversations that went beyond appearances.

I wanted women to feel comfortable being themselves, without constantly measuring themselves against who they used to be.

And I wanted to build a business that belonged inside the life I was already living.

A life filled with family, grandchildren, responsibilities, laughter, ordinary mornings, and dreams that were still very much alive.

One Life. My Life. Right Now.

Those words are a promise to myself.

To stop waiting for permission.

To stop treating my own dreams as something that must always come last.

To remember that loving the life I've built and wanting to experience more of it can exist together.

Sol Lumina Skin grew from that belief.

Sol speaks to sunlight, warmth, and the feeling of stepping into your own light.

Lumina speaks to the light we carry within ourselves—the light that doesn't disappear with time, but takes on greater meaning through experience.

Together, they represent what I want this brand to feel like.

Warm. Thoughtful. Personal. Real.

Our skincare rituals are part of that experience.

But Sol has never been only about what we put on our skin.

It's about how we speak to ourselves when we look in the mirror.

It's about enjoying the small moments that belong entirely to us.

It's about caring for ourselves because we matter, not because we need to fix something.

And it's about remembering that we don't have to earn the right to feel beautiful, confident, or comfortable in our own skin.

That's also why I created Her to Her.

A place for stories, honest conversations, and shared experiences. A welcoming space for anyone who identifies as a her and wants to connect through the things we learn about life, confidence, self-care, and ourselves.

Not because we have everything figured out.

But because we have something to share.

I believe there is something powerful about reaching a point in life when you no longer feel the need to explain every choice, apologize for every change, or compare yourself to someone else's idea of who you should be.

You begin to recognize what matters.

You appreciate the people you love.

You make room for the things that bring you joy.

And perhaps most importantly, you give yourself permission to simply be.

That's what Sol means to me.

Not starting over.

Not becoming someone else.

Being more of myself.

And creating a little space for others to do the same.

I'm not trying to become someone else. I'm being more fully myself.

That's the story.
